Denver is a city in Bremer County in the U.S. state of Iowa. The population was 1,919 at the time of the 2020 census. It is part of the WaterlooCedar Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. Denver was originally called Jefferson City, but after the Star Mail Route, a mail service provided to towns having no federal service, was established, the town changed its name. The community was incorporated on June 30, 1896. The city is located at 42°4019N 92°201W (42.672070, 92.333604).According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.65 square miles (4.27 km²) of which 1.64 square miles is land and 0.01 square miles of water (0.03 km²). The city has an average population of 1,780, with 1,627 people living in the city as of the 2010 census. The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was2.97. The gender makeup of the city was 47.6% male and 52.4% female. History
Denver was originally called Jefferson City, but after the Star Mail Route, a mail service provided to towns having no federal service, was established, the town changed its name. When a federal post office was established in 1863, the name was changed to Denver. The community was incorporated on June 30, 1896. It is located on the Colorado River, which runs through the center of the town. The town is home to the Denver Broncos hockey team. It also has the Denver Children's Museum, which is located in the town's downtown area. The Denver Broncos play the Colorado Rockies in the Denver Super Bowl on Sunday, July 8. The game will be broadcast live on NBC. The Super Bowl is the most-watched sporting event in the history of the NFL. It will also be broadcast on NBC-TV in the U.S. and on the CW in the United States.
