Groveport

Groveport was the hometown of John Solomon Rarey, a 19th-century horse whisperer, and developer of the Rarey technique for rehabilitating horses. The city is the location of the Groveport Log House, which was built in 1815 and moved in 1974 to a location near Groveport Cemetery. Groveport is located at 39°5122N 82°5326W (39.856163, -82.890544). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.79 square miles (22.77 km²) The population was 6,009 at the 2020 census, and 7.8% of Groveport residents are foreign-born. The number of veterans living in Groveport between 2015 and 2019 was 309. The population of the village was 5,363 at the census of 2010, with 48.1% male and 51.9% female. The racial makeup of the city was 92.88% White, 3.62% African American, 1.09% Asian, 0.57% from other races, and 1.22% from two or more races. The gender makeup ofthe village was 48. 1 male and 49.9 female. In 2000, there were 3,865 people, 1,575 households, and1,471 families living in the village. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.03. In the village, the population was spread out, with 24.0% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 32% from 25 to 44, and 12.5% from 45 to 64.

History

Groveport had its start as a single entity in 1846 when the neighboring rival towns of Wert's Grove and Rareysport merged. The city was incorporated as a village in 1847. A post office called Groveport has been in operation since 1847, and the city is the location of the Groveport Log House, which was built in 1815 and moved in 1974 to a location near Groveport Cemetery. Groveport is located on the Ohio-Erie Canal and was once part of the Ohio and Erie Canal Navigation Company. It is now part of Ohio State University, which opened its doors to the public in 1858. It was also the site of the U.S. Army's first African-American Civil War encampment, which began in 1854. The town is now home to the University of Pennsylvania's College of Engineering. The U.P. campus is located in the town's historic district, which dates back to the 17th century. It has been home to a number of colleges and universities, including Ohio State, Ohio University, and Ohio State. It also has its own museum, which is open to the general public, and is known as the "World's Largest Museum of American History" The city is home to several historic buildings, including Groveport's Log House and Groveport Hall of Fame, which has been there since 1815. The team's name is the Green Bay Packers, and the team won the Super Bowl in 2010. The town's mascot is the Packers' mascot, the Packers, who also played in the 2010 World Series. It is also known as the "Green Bay Packers" or "The Green Packers" because of the city's nickname, "Green Park" The city's motto is "Green" which means "green" in German and "pink" in English. It has a population of 2,816. It was the site of the first World War II battle of the Battle of the Bulge, which took place in 1864. The Battle of Gettysburg was fought from 1864 to 1866. It's located on the banks of the Wisconsin River, which is a tributary of the Illinois River.

The racial makeup of. Groveport is 82.1 percent White, 12.5. African American, 0.3% Native American, 1.9. Asian, 1,0% from other races, and 2.3%. from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.2%. The village has a population of 2,300.

Economy

Groveport is home to Rickenbacker International Airport and Air National Guard Base. The city used to be home to the headquarters of Air Tahoma before they ceased operations. Other organizations with significant operations include Amazon.com, FedEx, Gap, Inc., Eddie Bauer, Spiegel Brands, American Electric Power and VistaPrint. It is also home to Staber Industries, which is currently home to many distribution centers, warehouses and other facilities. It was once known as the "City of the Stars" due to its location on the Ohio Turnpike, which was built in the early 1900s. It has a population of about 3,000. It also has a reputation for being a good place to live and work, as it is close to the Ohio River and the Ohio State Highway System. The town has a history of being a source of employment for many people in the area. The population has grown over the years, especially in the past few decades. It now has a high percentage of people of color, which has contributed to the growth of the city. It's also the site of many manufacturing and distribution facilities, such as FedEx and Gap, which are based in Groveport. In addition to the airport, Groveport has a number of warehouses and distribution centers for other companies, including VistaPrint, which also has its own distribution center and distribution center in the city's downtown area.
