Fred Schwengel represented Iowa's 1st congressional district for over a decade. He was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives. He served in the House from 2003 to 2010. He is a former member of Iowa's Senate and Iowa's House of Representative. He died in 2011 at the age of 69. He had served in Congress for over 10 years and was a Republican.
